Another take over

(Source: Reckmann) RECKMANN has just signed the contract to take over the Nautic Sail Management (NSM) product range. It is the second take over this year after RECKMANN took over the HOLMATRO rigging hydraulics in January.

NSM in the Netherlands has designed and produced highly innovative furl boom drives. This includes electric and hydraulic furl boom drives, cunningham systems and spindle outhaul systems. The pure focus on boom furling technology, combined with the drive to build products which improve the complete sailing experience, has brought NSM to its current position. The new front drive motor has many advantages to the ones put in the outboard end of the boom. The boom can be built lighter and the risk of damage on the goose neck fitting will be reduced by a better weight (balance) and use of our new boom brake.

The units were designed with the goal to achieve 4 mayor points; reliability, better weight balance by having the unit load at front (mast) side, less constructual weight of boom by no need to compensate torque loads at the shelf and a reliable high load clutch, integrated in the furl unit. Some of the well known furl boom brands have already installed these boom furl drives and are happy with the performance and service.

The current product portfolio of RECKMANN is completed with new innovations. It will not only extend the current product range but will also strengthen the complete range as a whole. The new small AFE electric furl boom drive will be on display at the METS, booth 01.451.
