(Source: Team Sanya) “The day we thought would never come has arrived,” said Nick Bice, Team Sanya shore team manager. Today after nearly 3 weeks, the rig is going back in. Some of the sailing team arrived today and immediately got to work in preparing the boat to leave once the sea trials are done. The tentative plan is to step the rig today with sea trials planned all day tomorrow and on the 6th if needed, and then resuming sailing on the evening of the 6th or early on the 7th… Mast going in now… more to come,
Andrés

UPDATE: The rig is in! The dock tune completed and tomorrow the boom will go on and the mainsail soon after. “Today was a very successful day” commented Nick Bice, the shore team manager and the team from Future Fibres got the rig sorted while the sailors wasted no time in diving in to jobs straight off the plane. Dave (Swete) and Ryan battened up the J2 and the main for sea trials, while Bert (Schandevyl) checked all the winches and deck gear. I fired up the media station without any hitches and I will be sending full daily updates again. The rest of the afternoon was spent sorting the interior of the boat and making sure she was ready to sail tomorrow. There is certainly a bit of energy roaring around, the sailors are keen to get going and even have a morning team run planned. Bicey tells us that the locals join him on his morning marathons daily. The rest of the boys will be arriving in the next day or so, and we will be off as soon as we can. All good for now, but standby, Sanya is back!
