New Lewmar Products on Show at Cannes
The Festival de la Plaisance de Cannes begins today in the glamorous setting of the French Riviera.
The start of the event is also the debut for many new boats, amongst them the Dufour 500, Hanse 575 and Tofinou 12.

The Dufour 500, the second largest model within Dufour’s Grand’ Large range and the first to be fitted with the new Lewmar CPX4 windlass, represents the beginning of a new supply partnership between Lewmar and the Bavaria Group which will see Lewmar windlasses used across an increasing range of boats. The CPX range combines anodised aluminium and cast stainless components, powerful motors and worm-wheel gearboxes to provide a light-weight, stylish, powerful and robust vertical windlass solution. It is available in sizes 1-6, making it suitable for all boats from around 26ft to 72ft.

The Hanse 575 utilises four custom flush hatches, bent along their front edge to allow seamless integration into the coachroof. Lewmar invested in specific bending machinery to achieve this and can create sizes and bend angles to suit customers’ wishes. In addition, the 575 is also the first Hanse to take the new CPX4 windlass.

The Tofinou 12, designed by Joubert and Nivelt, mixes traditional elements with modern touches to create a stunning yachts which is exceptionally easy to sail, helped in no small part by the fitment of a Lewmar REVO 55 winch to control the mainsheet at the touch of a button. The REVO winch is Lewmar’s new electric backwind deck winch, allowing lines to be tightened and eased using only two buttons with no need to touch the rope or winch at any time.

In addition, the Bavaria Vision 46 is making its first appearance at Cannes. Bavaria offer the REVO winch as an option on both the coachroof mainsheet/halyard winch and on the primary genoa sheets. In this case, the REVOs are cross-linked using Lewmar electronics to create an automatic tacking system. The REVO winch is available in all standard winch sizes from 40 – 65 and is the only backwind winch on the market to offer simple two button in-out control with permanently available 2 speed winch-handle operation and no need to manually change modes of operation.
