After a dramatic few days for the ETNZ AC72 wing sail, things are back on track as it’s hoisted again.
ETNZ struggling to control their wing in a high wind launch attempt. By all account, although dramatic, little damage was done.
The Kiwis are first to launch and step the wing in boat two in Auckland yesterday. Lets hope the weather clears so we can get a good look at her in the coming days. For now, check out these pics and vid from our man who got close to the action:
ETNZ is getting a feel for what its like falling from great heights. I guess the sailor vetoed having a mock up of a daggerboard or a wing section floating round the pool for extra authenticity. As Winny MacFarlane says in the vid; ‘Let hope we never have to do this for real!’.
